Blodgett - Cottage Grove article In June 2002, citizens of Cottage Grove with help from CFD, erected a tree-sit in unit 8 of the Blodgett timber sale in an old-growth Douglas fir tree. In March 2003 Unit 8 was CANCELLED! and the tree-sit was removed. Thanks everyone for your support! Now, we move on to the other 90 acres still on the chopping block, where Roseburg Forest Products is expected to begin logging within the next year.

Tree sits are ongoing in two timber sales in the Willamette National Forest, near Eugene, Oregon. Red Cloud Thunder and Winberry. Red Cloud Thunder has been going on continually since 1999. A new tree sit has begun at Snog in the Umpqua National Forest. The Umpqua National Forest is east of Roseburg, Oregon.
